Why Trailhead PT is Different!

I might be biased, but I definitely think that Trailhead PT is a special place and I absolutely love getting to work here.

It seems like there are 2 main types of Physical Therapy clinics that exist anymore.

There’s the ‘patient mill’ style, where there are a ton of patients coming through the door and therapist are often double, or even triple, booked with patients. This means therapists are often seeing 20+ patients in a single day. What does this mean for you as the patient? It means that your therapist is probably exhausted and doing their best to treat 2-3 patients at a time. Which means less time for them to spend with you. When there is less time for one-on-one care, you tend to end up with run-of-the line care that doesn’t actually target your goals. You might also end up seeing a different PT every time or get handed off to a PT aide that is probably a college student who doesn’t have the knowledge they need to take care of you. You get to use your insurance at these clinics, but you might also be in PT for a long time, feeling like you’re throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what might help.

There’s also been a huge new push towards cash-based clinics. These are great because you’ll typically get a full hour of one-on-one care with your physical therapist, and you’ll probably see the same therapist every time. This usually means that you get fully individualized care that targets all of your goals, and you have plenty of time to tweak things and ask questions. The downside is that they don’t take insurance, and sessions are often $150/hour, which just isn’t sustainable for a lot of people.

Here’s where Trailhead comes in, we combine the best parts of both models to give you the best individualized care that we can!

At Trailhead PT, all of your appointments will be 1-on-1, so you know that your treatment plan is targeted to you with your goals in mind. AND, we take most major insurances, so you don’t even have to pay $150/hour to get high-quality care. You’ll get the undivided attention of one of our top-notch physical therapists who will go through a full evaluation at your first visit to get to the route of your pain or injury, explain to you what they think is going on, and create a plan to get you back to doing the things you love.

If you’re ready to get started on your trail to recovery, schedule an appointment with us today! We’d love to get to work with you!
